This is the least expensive of the Lumin streamer line, but they certainly did not skimp on sound quality and functionality. I have only used the app on my iPhone for initial settings with the Lumin, so I can't personally speak to how works as a player app. That said, if you don't want to invest in Roon, I've read very good things about Lumin's iPad app. Combined with TIDAL, you have almost any song you can imagine at your fingertips. Roon is an amazing way to consolidate all of your digital files. I'm using the Lumin D2 as a Roon endpoint. Hi Fi and MQA files streamed through TIDAL are revelatory as well. Standard 16/44.1 (cd quality) files sound amazing, and 24/96 files are even more astounding. The warmest, most "analog" sound I've ever heard from a digital source.
